One of the great natural wonders of the world, Yosemite National Park and its spectacular valley has an unforgettable impact on everyone who visits. Travel from San Francisco through California's agricultural Central Valley and into the Sierra Foothills where 49ers panned for gold. Follow the beautiful Merced River to the majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains. Glaciers cut through these mountains forming the spectacular granite monuments you will see throughout the park including breath taking waterfalls and Half Dome.

Yosemite Full Day Tour with Lunch

You will enter Yosemite National Park at around 11:30 am and make 3 stops on your way down to Yosemite Lodge. You will have three to four hours to spend at Yosemite National Park, with a range of activities to suit everyone, which may include some of the following:

  • Stop at Yosemite View
  • Stop at Bridal Falls
  • Hike to one of Yosemite's other waterfalls
  • Stop at 1/2 Dome
  • Watch the climbers on El Capitan
  • Rent bikes for a relaxing cycle on the flat bike paths throughout the valley
  • Cool off in lovely river pools in summer
  • Spot a black bear
  • Relax at the visitors center
  • Visit the museums, restaurants and the Ansel Adams Gallery
  • Lunch in the Ahwanee Hotel INCLUDED!

When it's time to head back to San Francisco, you will drive down the Sierra Nevada, passing through Stanislaus National Forest and stopping along the way for a short break

Yosemite Overnight Excursion

Your tour will arrive in the park at 11:30 am and you will have four hours to explore the park before your driver will drive you to your hotel just outside the El Portal Entrance to the park at Yosemite View Lodge. Yosemite View Lodge has an onsite restaurant as well as a small grocery store and gift shop. The hotel is located next to the scenic Merced River. The next day, you can wake up at your leisure and either have breakfast at the hotel or head in to Yosemite National Park any time you wish. A local transportation pass aboard the Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System is provided for you to travel in between the hotel and the park at your leisure.

At 4 pm, your Gray Line of San Francisco driver will meet you to bring you back to San Francisco and on your way out of the park, the coach will stop at the hotel to pick up your luggage before you make the return trip to San Francisco.

Please note: The weather in Yosemite is highly variable and includes rain and snow in winter and high temperatures in summer. The itinerary may be adapted to make the most of Yosemite during different seasons and times of the year.
